A young woman decided to stop relaxing her hair. At the age of 17, she noticed her hair was browning and suffering from breakage. The last time she saw her natural hair was when she was only 5. She wanted to remember what her hair looked like.

This was 2010, when it seemed as if there was a movement against relaxers towards natural hair. Chris Rock had also recently come out with his "Good Hair" movie. The timing felt right.
